Migratory Birds

The destruction of the countryside, poisons, climate change, man-made obstacles, noise... Migratory birds have a lot to contend with today.

In addition, the hunting of migratory birds is a widespread practice in southern Europe, particularly on the Col de l'Escrinet, a hill in the South of France that hundreds of thousands of migratory birds fly over each year.

This is where Fondation Franz Weber (FFW) has succeeded in implementing a change: the land on the hill itself, from where hunters used to shoot everything that moved - or rather flew - now belongs to the Fondation.

Calm has been re-established. Poachers have been replaced by ornithologists and other nature lovers and environmentalists. Migratory birds are admired and counted, not killed.
